Campaign win: all future Board of Deputies meetings to be live streamed

17 Jun

The Board of Deputies President, Vivian Wineman, opened the first meeting of the new triennium today by announcing that all future plenary meetings are going to be live streamed on the internet for anybody to watch, wherever they are.

This is a big win for the Changing the Board campaign which has consistently asked for meetings to be opened up to the wider community: if the Board is truly the voice of all British Jews, then all British Jews have a right to know what goes on in its meetings.

Minutes too are to made available to anybody who wishes. Members of any community are also invited to attend Sunday meetings, should they have the desire. Please get in touch with us if you’d like to join.

Today’s meeting is not being live streamed apparently, but you can follow all of the action live on twitter. Follow the hashtags #bod and #changethebod to see what’s being said.
