Live streaming is here to stay

4 Mar

One of the changes Changing the Board lobbied for successfully last year was the introduction of live streaming for all Board of Deputies plenary meetings.

In order to increase transparency, we asked that meetings be opened up to the wider community: if the Board is truly the voice of all British Jews, then all British Jews have a right to know what goes on in its meetings.

Hundreds of people have benefited from watching the meetings at home, whether they are an interested community member, or a Deputy unable to attend the meeting that day due to illness or other commitments.

After an initial trial period, the Finance and Organisation division voted unanimously to keep live streaming in all plenary meetings for the rest of this triennium.

Changing the Board would like to thank the division and all those involved in the filming and streaming process.

Update: this will go to a future plenary meeting to be ratified by Deputies.
